Fwd: Multimedia message

So this cake turned out better than I could have imagined!! I actually made two of them. One chocolate and one french vanilla. They were both covered in buttercream. Then I drizzled a melted mixture of milk and semisweets chocolates. The strawberries were covered with the same mixture.

Hannah Montana Cake

It is not often that I get the oppurtunity to make a girly girl cake. So when I was contacted to do a Hannah Montane cake I jumped at the chance. The cake is iced in buttercream and all the details are in marshmallow fondant. I painted silver accents on the guitar and the microphone. Once I was done I decided to go all out and add a pink boa to the cake board.

Toy Story Cake

I know I always say that every cake was fun to do and this one was no different. The toys are just that, toys. I bought a set at Target. To make the headboard, I melted milk chocolate chips and spread them on wax paper. Once it dried, a cut out the shape and cut the moon out. The cake itself is covered in buttercream that I smoothed out. Then I added quilted details. I made the pillow and the details on the bed out of fondant. I wrote the birthday boy's message in buttercream. Looking back I wish I would have don that in fondant too.

The Monkey Cake

This cake was for a baby shower. It was an absolute blast to do. The monkeys really brought the cake to life.
